A scratch-it-off-your-bucket-list tour

I have wanted to go to Petra for a very long time and doing so from Israel was the best option for me. I booked the tour in Viator, but was uncertain with all the reviews. Some where great, some were very bad, and I was a bit worried about what to expect.
It turned out better than all my expectations.
Contrary to some of the complains I read, the buses were very comfy, the ones in Israel with electric plugs and wifi. The ride was smooth, with some stops, and the border crossing uneventful.
The guide in Jordan, Adnan, was very knowledgeable, and the most important thing, Petra, was breathtakingly beautiful.
It is indeed a very long day, almost 24 hours, of which we only spent in Petra about 4, but to me it was undoubtetly worth it.
I didnt mind the long rides in the bus, because I was able to sleep soundly. Also, the views of the Negev and the sunset are beautiful to watch.
The border crossing into Jordan took 2 hours, but it felt quicker than that.
I do feel we had a few unnecessary stops, supposedly for bathroom breaks, but I think it was more of an effort to get you to buy stuff at the different gift shops.
Overall, I loved this tour and recommend it with closed eyes to anyone that wants to make a quick visit to Petra.
Amazing tour through Jordan

Amazing tour to Jordan!! Our tour guide Adam was a very good one! The tour through Petra was fascinating! I really recommend this tour to anyone who doesn’t have a lot of time or only one day to visit Jordan.
Nice trip!

Would have been 5/5 if Jordanian Guide had kept politics out of the discussion. Otherwise, I thought the trip was well worth the cost.
Fun, professionally organised and very much worth it !

My partner and I booked 5 tours with Tourist Israel during our recent 10 day stay.

BETHLEHEM, JERICHO AND JORDAN RIVER TOUR
BEST OF TEL AVIV AND JAFFA WALKING TOUR
PETRA TOUR FROM TEL AVIV
BEST OF JERUSALEM DAY TOUR
MASADA AND DEAD SEA TOUR

From the start the booking process was clear and straightforward – they were prompt in replying to any questions. On one occasion when we booked 2 tours for the same day – they were more than happy to swap and move the bookings around.

We thought they were good value for money as they days were long and packed with things to do or look at.   Pick up and drop off times were as advertised and ran on time

Tour guides were great – some more suited to personal taste than others – but overall, they were professional and more than happy to answer any questions or queries.

The day trip to Petra is a long one.  It really is.  But it was well worth the while particularly if your time is limited and you don’t want the hassle of it all. It was well managed and yes the guide on the Jordan side of the border had a particular political view … and I can see it not suiting everyone’s taste. But hey, that’s why you travel….. broadening horizons and all that . Petra is however everything you imagine.

Would we use Travel Israel again or recommend it to my friends and family?  Yes, without a doubt.

Our only personal critique is that the ‘Walking tour of Jaffa and Tel Aviv’ could have included slightly more of Tel Aviv and the city’s culture and highlights.

Also details of what to expect and how to navigate the ‘dead sea experience’ could have been clearer.   It is worth the visit but the logistics of getting changed- getting down to the waterfront- and what to expect on the site was not as clear as we thought it could have been. This meant issues in where to leave items –understanding where showers/ chairs etc were and how to store personal items. For example, some people didn’t have the required change for the lockers … didn’t know what to expect at the waterfront and as a result felt less equipped to enjoy the experience. Please don’t take the above points as a direct criticism – its just some helpful feedback that we thought may be useful

We would name some individuals personally as we felt they are worthy of a mention due to their passion and enthusiasm.  Sammy the Coach Driver.  George the guide in Bethlehem and Limor.
Thank you to the team for making the trip a very memorable one.
Amazing site but mediocre tour
nancy_s, 06-11-2022
The Petra site was remarkable,
but the tour was not. The buses were older with uncomfortable, narrow seating. The ride was bumpy and the AC on one segment of the 16 hour round trip drive came on and off noisily every 10 seconds. There were no bathrooms on the buses, either.
Though not a tour company issue, the homeless dogs and cats everywhere in Israel and Jordan were very disturbing. There seemed to be no concern for their welfare.
